In my family, one of our favorite things about the fall and winter is cuddling up with these adorable microwaveable hot pads. I made about 10 last year as Christmas presents and this year we are selling them at the craft sale. They are a fun and easy way to use up extra fabric and are a cinch to make. If you haven’t used one before, they are merely a fabric bag filled with rice or flax (the two best materials I’ve found) and some dried herbs if desired. Sew up the “pillow” and you can heat it up for about 2-3 minutes (30 seconds at a time to ensure it doesn’t burn). Perfect to warm cold toes or tuck in between the sheets to make your bed toasty.
