It was a dark and stormy night…well, actually it really is a dark and stormy day here along the Atlantic coast! This is our first Nor’Easter and boy, it’s been a slow moving one. 3 days of gale-force winds and mist turning to rain and back to mist again. While sitting here, it’s hard not to envision ghosts and spirits floating down the halls of this 100 + year old home. As the winds rattle the single pane windows, water streams down in tiny rivers and I immediately want something warm and comforting.
So, I created the most spooktacular and delicious pumpkin hot cocoa ever!
Haunted Pumpkin Hot Cocoa
2 c milk
1 tb canned pumpkin
1/2 ts pumpkin pie spice
2-3 tb raw cacao or cocoa powder
about 1/4 c coconut sugar (or regular would work) more/less to taste
1/2 ts black pepper
Heat together over med heat in a saucepan til blended and enjoy topped with marshmallows. Now put your feet up, take a sip and dig in to your favorite scary book or movie!
Hi
I really liked your description of the storm. You ought to start writing “Jersey shore” mysteries.
Thank you!
